Description

The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) aims to improve people’s health and quality of life by conducting and supporting medical research and research training on diseases and conditions within its mission, including kidney diseases. Within NIDDK, the Division of Kidney, Urologic, and Hematologic Diseases (KUH) manages programs in kidney research and awards hundreds of millions of dollars in research funding each year. This poster highlights the research resources and funding opportunities available to support clinical, epidemiologic, basic, translational and implementation science kidney research. Featured resources include the NIDDK Central Repository, which houses data and samples from NIDDK-funded clinical trials and observational studies; the United States Renal Data System (USRDS) report and analysis files; and active kidney-related funding announcements; pilot funding opportunities available through ongoing NIDDK consortia, networks and centers; and mechanisms supporting exploratory clinical trials, epidemiologic studies, collaborative research, and research and development conducted by small businesses. Together, these resources provide investigators with multiple pathways to advance kidney disease research and improve patient outcomes.
