October 24, 2026 | 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Location: Mile High Ballroom 1A, Convention Center
Session Description
Bone disease contributes to mortality in CKD. Diagnostic and treatment strategies are limited. This session focuses on the latest strategies and observations that inform and help improve skeletal care in CKD. Particular emphasis is placed on the detection and assessment of bone disease, the PTH-dependent effects of CKD on bone, and current and emerging therapeutic strategies for bone disease in CKD.
Learning Objective(s)
- Describe noninvasive methods in the longitudinal assessment of bone disease in CKD
- Critically evaluate fracture risk in CKD
- Explain the specific roles of PTH and fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF-23) on the skeleton
Learning Pathway(s)
- Bones‚ Stones‚ and Mineral Metabolism
