Expanded Hemodialysis with Super High-Flux Membranes: Rationale, Evidence, and Implementation Considerations

Session Description
Expanded hemodialysis, which uses super high-flux dialyzer membranes, removes middle- and large-molecular-weight solutes more effectively than conventional high-flux hemodialysis. Some of these solutes are thought to contribute to inflammation, immune dysregulation, and cardiovascular disease. In this symposium, speakers discuss the rationale and clinical evidence for expanded hemodialysis and practical considerations for implementing it in maintenance hemodialysis.
Doors open around 12:30 p.m. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis to fully paid Annual Meeting participants. When a room reaches capacity, ASN will close the room, and no other participants will be allowed to enter, regardless of how many exit.
