Educational Symposium
B-Cell Therapy Over a Patient's Lifetime: When and Where to Deploy It in Lupus Nephritis and Membranous Nephropathy
October 22, 2026 | 12:45 PM - 01:45 PM
Location: TBD Room, Hyatt Regency Denver
Session Description
B cells play a pivotal role in autoimmune kidney diseases through their contributions to autoantibody production and loss of immune tolerance. In lupus nephritis and membranous nephropathy, antibody-mediated injury drives inflammation, kidney damage, and progressive loss of function.
This symposium explores the immunopathogenesis of these disorders and the expanding role of B-cell-targeted therapies. Experts review the mechanisms of action, clinical trial evidence, and practical application of emerging and established therapies, including their use in induction, maintenance, and relapse management. Similarities and differences in treatment approaches between lupus nephritis and membranous nephropathy are highlighted, providing participants with a contemporary framework for optimizing patient outcomes.
Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis to fully paid Annual Meeting participants. Doors open approximately 15 minutes prior to each symposium. When a room reaches capacity, ASN will shut down access to the room. No other participants will be allowed to enter the room, regardless of the number of participants who exit the room during the activity.
Support is provided by an educational grant from Genentech, a member of the Roche Group.
