Special Event
Economic Model for Uptake of New Therapies That Preserve Kidney Function
October 22, 2026 | 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Room 603, Convention Center
Session Description
Preserving kidney function is now a reality with the new pharmacologic agents that are available. The cost of these medications is no longer a barrier to implementation in developing and developed countries with the availability of generic SGLT2 inhibitors. This event reviews an economic model that can be applied globally with country-specific data to ensure government and decision-makers understand the opportunity to impact people's lives and save kidneys, hearts, and lives. The ASN-ERA-ISN Task Force and Working Group present the model, answer questions about implementation and advocacy efforts, and outline next steps for individuals interested in championing the use of new therapies to protect kidney health.
